After watching the video on the usage of the Pythagorean Theorem in football, some observations can be made. First, the Pythagorean Theorem is definitely one of the fundamentals of mathematics and easily adapts to many fields, including different types of sports. Secondly, its utilization in sports (as in the video, in football) sometimes leads to tremendous success for teams. It is becoming a usual practice for coaches to explore different fields of science when dealing with team management, its development, and necessary improvements to reach set goals. The exploitation of the Pythagorean Theorem in different fields of sports management is one of these innovations.
Talking about other sports, where its exploitation is possible, two examples are indicative. Firstly, basketball, another popular sport worldwide. In Figure 1 below, the Pythagorean Theorem calculates players’ positions and the distance of shooting. Also, it can be used to calculate the distance between two players or the space they need to cover to be in the perfect position for a shoot.

The second indicative example is baseball, where the application of the Pythagorean Theorem is also justified. In Figure 2, the example is shown, how it is used in baseball, specifically when a catcher is throwing to 2nd base. Pythagorean Theorem is helpful in calculating different variables based on distances. For instance, how far a player has to throw a ball and throw the runner out.

Thus, the Pythagorean Theorem is applicable in different types of sports, such as basketball, baseball, and football. It can be applied to other sports and near-sports activities as well (for instance, sport-betting); however, the most prominent examples were presented above. This shows how the fundamentals of mathematics are related to the different fields of human life and how they affect it in different ways.
