Introduction

Human resource management entails overseeing the recruitment of employees and once they have been brought on board their performance has to be monitored. The performance of an employee is gauged by looking at their output. Human resource management as a field has embraced technology because it helps to eliminate errors and it also speeds up processes. This paper focuses on three technologies that are related to human resource management. The technologies are namely: performance compensation, employment systems and services, and time and attendance systems (IHRIM, 2011). The paper will focus on the benefits of these technologies and the kind of organizations they are best suited for.

Sales Compensation Technology

Sales compensation technology is offered to employers who realize the need to motivate their employees according to the sales they bring to their company. When the efforts made by employees are not appreciated, their morale goes down and this may influence them to look for work elsewhere. Astron Solutions compensation system tracks the performance of all the employees in an organization and ranks them from the lowest to the highest according to the revenue they have earned the company. The advantage of this system is that it moulds employees into responsible persons and thus, they do not require any supervision. The bonuses are distributed to the employees who have achieved the best results in terms of sales. This system is free from manipulation and the good thing is that the employees are consulted before its implemented. The system is recommended for companies that trade in financial products like banks and insurance company, among several others. This is because the sales persons who work in such institutions are paid according to the deals they have closed (Astron Solutions, 2011).

Employment Systems and Services

Orchestrata applicant tracking is an employment system that is used in human resource management. Just like its name suggests, the system makes it easy for employers to screen their potential employees before hiring them. Beeline Solutions (2011) points out that the system is integrated with the Internet, which makes it easier to do background checks on the potential employees. This is because it provides feed backs from the people who know the applicants much more than we do such as HR managers from other organizations. This technology helps employers to hire employees who have good working history. This is because it would be disastrous to hire an employee who was fired after he/she was involved in a scandal in the previous job. The feedback that is provided by the system can be used to vet an applicant. The only setback in this system is that the applicants could be using different names while on the internet and there are several people who share a name. However, this system is recommended for multinational companies because it offers a lot of convenience.

Time and Attendance Systems

Employee scheduling software from Celayix enables the staff of an organization to organize their own time. This is logical because they are the ones who know the times they are available. This software is suitable for managers who spend most of their time away from the organization because it monitors the attendance of the employees., just like the manager would. The employees place their thumbs on top of a touch screen immediately they arrive at their place of work, and this must be repeated while exiting the premises. The employees can request for day offs through the system. The system is integrated with the Internet, which allows administrators to access it from anywhere. Celayix Software fosters accountability because every employee is made to give a reason for being absent and on top of that it aids in monitoring the performance of the employees. The management can tell who is committed to their work by looking at the report provided by the scheduler. However, this technology is not for people without limbs and it is not recommended for employees with disabilities. This technology is best suited for superstores because they have many employees without common day offs (Celayix, n.d).

Conclusion

Technology is very important as far as human resource management is concerned because it makes the tasks of HR managers less tedious. IHRIM (2011) states that the decisions that are made in human resource management are determined by the information that is available. For instance, the people who are hired should be vetted to ensure that they are clean because if they are not, they will taint the image of the organization. Technologies like the ones discussed in this paper can also be used to bring integrity in an organization because people cannot lie about themselves and thus the credits are given to the people who deserve them.
