Introduction

For a long time, abortion in several states and nations worldwide has remained an unsolved issue due to stringent laws governing the matter. Individuals who get pregnant due to rape do not have the freedom to terminate their pregnancies despite rape being declared a criminal offense in various states. Additionally, for individuals to do abortions, they must provide solid evidence to prove they were raped (Elvandari, 2020). The minimum timeframe for carrying out an abortion is still a matter of concern since some states advocate for a minimum of eight weeks to carry out an abortion.

The process of proving the rape incidences is time-consuming; hence the affected people continue to suffer from mental torture before they are allowed to abort. The best way to tackle this challenge of the time frame for aborting is to address the governing bodies at state levels responsible for enacting laws concerning abortion. This report will attempt to develop a mechanism by which the solution will counter the minimum time frame for abortion, particularly rape-related abortions, will reach the public (Elvandari, 2020). I will contact the state officers concerned with the laws and explain why it is essential to review the laws restricting abortion, particularly rape-related cases.

Findings

State officers concerned with abortion can review the laws after thoroughly researching how people want the matter addressed. The state committees in charge of hearing such cases can forward them to their seniors in the state and federal government for review and adoption among the public. This report will target the general public because abortion is an issue that affects the general society (Elvandari, 2020). While abortion is illegal in states, pregnancies resulting from rape cases are not perceived well in society; thus, the general public should be informed on the essence of involving the concerned authorities to review the laws on the appropriate time individuals should carry out an abortion.

Most people in the digital era have access to the internet and electronic devices like tablets, computers, and smartphones. The most appropriate way to reach the public is to create pages on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Posts concerning the subject matter can be created and shared on social media platforms. The posts can then be shared to the public forums by encouraging the users to share them with their friends (Elvandari, 2020). The use of social media channels will be an effective way of passing the information to the public since they enhance immediate feedback and responses on the matter of concern.

People with verified accounts and huge followers can disseminate the information to the public due to their ability to influence the masses on various aspects. Before creating the social media pages, I will first conduct a small survey to know the most used social media platforms among the people and how frequently they access the interactive platforms (Elvandari, 2020). I will randomly issue questionnaires to several people, asking them to specify the social media channels they prefer and how frequently they use them. Afterward, I will conclude the gathered data and identify the most used platforms.

Conclusion

Strict laws limiting the timeframe individuals should carry out an abortion should be reviewed by the concerned bodies to give individuals the freedom of doing an abortion at will. Pregnancies resulting from rape should be considered while looking for means to discard the stringent laws because casualties of rape go through various challenges like depression and psychological torture. Social media is an effective tool that can be used in spreading the solution of the problem to the public.

Recommendation

Abortion is an issue that states and federal governments should critically look into, particularly in cases where the involved parties were impregnated due to rape. The time frame of eight weeks among states should be eradicated as it extends the time individuals suffer while waiting for the stipulated time to abort. The authorities concerned should look for other means of justifying rape cases rather than demanding evidence to prove rape, which is time-consuming.
